Against the Sages

I hesitate to even write the words, but there’s no denying it: our most revered sages and philosophers were wrong about the alchemical arts. Nothing on this island has behaved as it should. Increasingly, I’ve come to believe that azoth itself is the goal that so many sought; the very essence of power, transmutation, refinement, and immortality.
