The Balance is Threatened

We must safeguard the Flow.

Though my long life has been dedicated to the Flow, I confess, I find no stillness in this place. The relentless march rattles my bones and beats like a drum upon my heart. Though I came to Aeternum place by happenstance, I have come to believe that I was brought here to master serenity. To live in harmony with a place where time has ceased? Where the practicalities of life and the satisfaction of time well-spent are moot? That is a true challenge from the Way. But now, something not of the Dao has come to this land. Something that seeks to pervert all that balance that the ebb and flow of Azoth has worked eternally to maintain. I can hear its pain and rage, roaring through the space between dimensions, calling out for a completeness it can never obtain. There is no harmony in this endless hunger. The Corruption represents an end to all that is good and natural in this world: the consumption of that which time forsook, and its perversion as a thirst that cannot never be quenched. And so, against this damnation, I shall become the river, and ensure its advance proceeds upstream, against the current. -Matsui O-fusa
