I have learned that this new agent of the Corruption, this Captain Thorpe, is known to us. A new arrival here on Aeternum, he was in command of the very same ship that bore our hero across the Stormwall. A strange coincidence, to be sure. But I cannot help but see the hand of providence upon it.
The will of God is a mystery, even to those of us whose devotion remains pure. If our nemesis Thorpe came among us at the very same time as the one who has so often become our deliverance, perhaps it is wise to greet his ascendancy as a test. A test not only of our faith and will, but of our hero’s perseverance.
I am a warrior. I fight so that my body may act as a shield for those less able to stand against the forces of darkness. And even if is His will that I should fall, I shall embrace my destiny on the battlefield as God demands it. But I cannot help but think that it is not by my sword that this threat shall be vanquished. Our hero’s fate has come full circle, and that circle must close. One way or the other.
May we meet this challenge with God’s grace. And with all the courage and valor we can muster.
