We Must Succeed

This journey will be the greatest test of the Soulwardens have ever undertaken. Not since we disbanded eons ago have we faced so great a peril. The stakes are high, for if we are to be able to fulfill our great purpose, and vouchsafe the people of Aeternum against threats lethal to even those who cheat death, we must be ready and able to meet such grave enemies head on. I only wish we had more time! Our steadfast ally Grace is ready, but I sometimes fear her mission is her own, and that she lacks the commitment of those who have fully embraced our banner. Galahad’s faith has sustained him through so much already, and I suspect it shall continue. But the others… they are brave and committed, but may lack the strength and experience necessary to carry the day. I have no doubt that some day they would make excellent Soulwardens, but the crisis is here now, and we must fight or risk being swept away in the tide of coming Corruption. Even more than Grace or Galahad or even me, there is one among us whose resolve and courage will be most pivotal to our success. One who began life on this island as a lowly castaway, but has become a pivotal force in all our struggles. Perhaps that is enough. In all my years, I have seen the power of one brave soul standing against many, and the power it can have to bend the shape of history. Perhaps that will be enough. Only time will tell.
